What to bring

Packing light is the key to success when travelling to the Kenyan coast. The summer months (December, January & February) reach highs of 30-35C, where as the winter months (May June July) bring a few showers – however rarely fall below 25C. One or two pairs of light long trousers for the evenings will be more than enough, although shorts for the guys and light dresses for the girls are perfect for most of the year. Swimwear and light t-shirts are recommended for the day time. Guests are advised to bring sun block and mosquito repellent, although both of these items are available at the resort along with a variety of other basic toiletries. The villas are fully stocked with linen, bath and beach towels which are replenished daily.

Diani weather is mostly stable year round. The monsoon winds that blow across the ocean establish the seasons. The kaskazi wind is lasts from October to March with November bringing the “short” rains. The kusi is the more powerful and colder of the two winds, lasting from April until September, with rain expected between May and June. During the months of “rain,” the climate remains warm. April and May are naturally the regions rainiest period, with January to February recording the least rainfall. The wettest month in Diani Beach is May. Months between December and April are the hottest, reaching an average maximum of 33°C throughout the day. It’s cooler in July and August, reaching just 27°C as a high.
